Rijksmuseum

In an attempt to compete with the Louvre, the Dutch created the Rijksmuseum in 1800 to house its national treasures. Vermeer and Rembrandt, among many others, are displayed within its recently renovated walls.

Amsterdam Museum District

Housing the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and Anne Frank's House, Amsterdam is a beautiful city with canals and quaint brick homes. Today we visited the Van Gogh Museum, which maintains more than 200 of his paintings -- the largest collection!
